DIY Vintage Button Bracelets

Vintage Button Bracelets

I can’t get enough of these adorable bracelets I made with my Mommom’s vintage buttons! I made a bunch for my sisters, cousins and aunts to hand out at Christmas and everyone loved them. They are super cute but extra special because they were made with Mommom’s buttons.

Here is how you can do it:

You will need:

  • Buttons
  • A variety of colored hemp
  • Scissors

Choose a button that has two or four holes then cut two pieces of hemp long enough so that when it is all done it will fit around your wrist. You can always cut off extra so it’s better to have more than not enough.

First fold one piece of hemp in half and then string the side with the two tail pieces through two of the holes and leave a little loop. If you are using a button with only 2 holes just string both ends through the same hole but leave a little loop on the end.

Next bring the two tail pieces through that loop and pull tight and secure with a knot directly against the button. Repeat on the other side.

Next you are going to tie a knot on one side exactly where you want to put a smaller button to secure it on your wrist and on the other side tie a loop to put the button through to secure it. Just snip off the extra pieces of hemp and you are all done!

To put on the smaller button just string the hemp through and secure it with a knot and cut off the extra ends.

To mix it up I also used two different colors of hemp on some and braided it for a different style.
