As if finding your best self physically and emotionally isn’t enough there are some amazing prizes up for grabs too:

In May of 2014 I was rear ended by a vehicle going over 35 MPH while I was at a complete stop.

The consequences of that accident have been life changing and have resulted in the hardest 18 months of my life.

Every day is a battle to just do daily tasks as I continue to fight post concussion syndrome but I refuse to let this unfortunate event destroy me.

I use the pain every day as motivation to make myself stronger mentally and physically and I want to help you fight through your battles too!

Growing up as an athlete I was never short of physical activity and it definitely showed through my extremely skinny build!

I struggled my entire life to put on weight until I developed hypothyroidism when I was 19-years-old.

My under active thyroid leads to easy weight gain, so instead of eating whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, I had to learn to eat healthier to be able to continue to compete as a Division-1 athlete in college.

In college I learned how to lift heavy and loved the results that came with it!

I was finally filling in my “bony back” which was always somewhat of a joke among my friends because of how far my shoulder blades stuck out my entire life.

As I started to make progress it gave me even more motivation to turn my biggest weakness into one of my biggest strengths.

While I did make significant progress in college it wasn’t until after college that I started making even faster gains after I became more educated in how to properly use supplements in addition to a healthy diet.

Despite not even being able to work out for months and weeks at a time in the past 18 months following the car accident, I’m very proud of how far I have been able to come while not being 100%!

I’ve made more progress while battling chronic pain than I did when I was 100% healthy!

If I can make it work then so can you!

My transformation physically and mentally is never ending and I am going to continue to try and find my best self each and every day!

I’m so excited to start this journey with everyone who wants to join me!

If you would like to join my team, go to, and invite me as your trainer AKA Team Leader!

My email is!

I will be your team leader and have your back every step of the way!

I have the tools for you to make it happen and all you have to do is put in the work!

My Transphormation starts today… Does yours?

Lets do this TOGETHER!

10 Motivational Instagram Accounts You Should Be Following

We all have those days when we could use some extra motivation to get up off the couch and get moving. There’s also those days when we think no one could possibly be having a worse day than we are and nobody could possibly be busier than we are or have it harder than we do.

Well the truth is someone always has it worse. Someone is always more tired and someone is always busier. So when I find myself making excuses I like to turn to Instagram for some motivation.

I think IG is full of endless motivation but there are certain people that I search more often than others because they all just having something unique about them that I love.

I could make a huge list of motivational people but I wanted to narrow it down to 10 that I think are very inspirational that most people may not have ever heard of.

  1. Krystal Cantu (@krystalcantu)

Krystal Cantu is by far one of the most inspirational people I have ever come across. She lost her right arm in a car accident and despite such a horrific loss she immediately got right back into going after her goals and competing as a CrossFit Athlete. She is also currently training for the Olympics to throw javelin. She is always posting inspirational content that will make you want to get up and do something amazing. She is one of my fellow 1st Phorm Athletes and she definitely knows what it means to #NeverSettle.

2. Derek Weida (@derekweida)

Derek Weida is also one of my fellow 1st Phorm Athletes and like Krystal he without a doubt lives by a #NeverSettle attitude. He is a Wounded Combat Veteran and he makes things like easy with only 1 leg that most people would have trouble doing with both of their legs! He is definitely worth following for some serious motivation plus he’s always good for some funny videos that are sure to make you smile.

One of the things I've learned over the years is this – fuck making a plan. Let other people spend their time sitting around thinking about life while you're out living it. "You're doing it on crutches? How are you going to do this? How are you going to do that?" It doesn't matter. Momentum is my strategy. As long as I keep moving forward I'll get to where I'm going. Don't complicate it. Approach life with the simple mindset of, "I don't know how I'm going to do it, but I'm not going to be afraid to start and I'm not going to quit before I finish. I don't care how much it hurts, I'm never going to give up." Adopt that mindset and apply it to every aspect of your life and BOOM!! you just became unfuckingconquerable. 👊🏻🇺🇸 #neversettle #nextlevelshit #legionofboom #thewoovement #straightlegless #iamadaptive #iammilitarymuscle

5. Laurie Darrow (@kidtigger)

Laurie Darrow is a beast. She’s a mom who has lost 110 pounds and is training to compete on American Ninja Warrior. I came across Laurie as part of the 1st Phorm Athlete Search and I’ve pretty much been obsessed with her ever since.  I love her because she is real and no matter how many times she falls she keeps getting right back up. Give her a follow and it won’t take long until you are inspired by her determination!

I used to spend so much time watching. If someone offered to let me participate in something I'd say "no thanks. I'll just watch."I sat and watched about 15 years of my life slip right on by. I missed experiences that I will never have the opportunity to try again. Now I don't wait for anyone to ask me to join in. I'm pushing my way to the front of the line because I can't wait to have that experience. I'm not wasting any more of the time I'm blessed with. Live your life! Have those experiences! Don't watch it go by. Now is the time! Tomorrow is never guaranteed. #nowisthetime #livelifedontwatchit #challengeyourself #dowork #fitmom #fitover40 #fun #experiences #adventure #iam1stphorm #1stphorm #legionofboom #motivated #mykindoffun #neversettle #makethemostofeachday #progress #weightlossjourney #rockclimbing #hiking #outdoorlife #transformation #beforeandafter

9. Valerie S. (@BigGalYoga)

Valerie S. proves through her stunning yoga photos that no matter what type of body you have, you can do anything with practice and dedication. “It’s nice to be able to show somebody who has the same body type as myself that they can do it themselves with their own yoga practice,” Valerie said in a recent article on

10. Jon Call (@jujimufu)

Jon Call refers to himself as “The Anabolic Acrobat.” I call him “ridiculous” and I mean that as a compliment. At 29-years-old he stands at 5’11” and 230 pounds and to put it simply he can do some pretty incredible stuff. Just check out his page and you will understand what I mean:

These are just 10 people who I think are worth following but the list could really go on an on! What I think every single one of these people have in common is that they all found their passion and by sharing that with the world they inspire more and more people everyday!

How To Find Peace When Life Feels Like It’s Falling Apart

Sometimes it feels like everything is going wrong. Sometimes it feels like I’m not good enough. Sometimes it feels like I can’t do anything right. Sometimes I feel insecure and sometimes it feels like everybody else is living in a perfect world and mine is just crumbling all around me.

It’s called life and it happens to everyone.

We are all going to feel this way every once in a while. But the thing is, you don’t have let these negative thoughts run your life.

I’ve found that the “secret” to turning these bad thoughts around comes down to three very simple things that may sound cliché but they work:

1. Put down the phone, step away from your computer and find a peaceful quite place, preferably outdoors.

2. Breathe. And don’t just breathe like you normally would. Instead, take long deep breaths and focus on fully inhaling and exhaling. It also helps if you think about inhaling the good and exhaling the bad.

3. Turn your negative thoughts into positive ones. Instead of filling your brain with all of the things that are going wrong focus on how far you’ve come to get to where you are now.  Whatever it is that’s bothering you in that moment, chances are you’ve overcome far harder things before.

That’s it.

It sounds too good to be true but if you really try, you can make it happen.

And if you have a lot of time to spare practice some yoga! I can’t think of a single time I didn’t feel better after stepping off my mat.

A Setback Is A Setup For A Comeback

Just because life punches you in the face doesn’t mean that’s your excuse to give up and quit. Every hit you take is a chance to stand up again and every time you get up after being knocked down you become stronger. Use setbacks as a chance to make a comeback!

It’s been 68 days since my last workout because I was in a car accident and I’m still slowly healing from my 5th concussion. But every day I try do the little things that will speed up my recovery time. Each day that passes is another missed workout but it’s also another day closer to being back in the gym!

Think positive and get results.

Motivation Monday: No Excuses – Just Do It

Stop making excuses and start going after your goals. You are always going to be able to come up with an excuse to skip a workout or have a cheat meal instead of a nutritious one. But the thing is, you need to be better than your best excuse if you want to reach those goals! When it comes down to it you need to think what do I want more? To skip this workout or actually see the results you want. It’s up to you and only you.

Right now I’m already over 8 WEEKS IN OF NO WORKING OUT while I’m still trying to recover from my concussion. So because I can’t use exercise as a way to obtain my health and fitness goals that means I need to put 100% of my efforts into eating clean and getting the rest that my body and brain needs.

That’s my goal right now…what’s yours?

Forget about the number on a scale. YOU are worth more than a number! Just worry about being healthy and I don’t mean skinny by that, I mean fit!

It all starts on the inside, remember that what you put into your body affects how your body looks and feels.

Look Ahead and Stay Positive

It’s been 6 weeks since my last workout because I was in a car accident and I’m still dealing with post concussion symptoms. (This is my 5th concussion.) I’ve had some really good days but I’ve also has a lot of days where I just lay in bed with a sore neck and headache trying to get away from all lights and noise. It’s easy to be sad and jealous of everyone else who can go to the gym or even complain about how they don’t feel like working out.

It’s really crazy how your life can change in an instant when you least expect it. But you have to learn to stop looking at all the negatives and focus on the positives. The one positive thing that will come from this accident is that when I’m finally released to exercise again, I will have a tremendous amount of motivation to workout harder than I ever have before. Every single day that passes I build up more motivation to kill it in the gym and each day I come one step closer to being able to do that.

Keep looking forward. And keep thinking positive, no matter what has you down.

**And thank you everyone for the well wishes and words of encouragement while I continue to recover! 💕💕

XOXO – Abbey
