Orange Creamsicle Protein Smoothie

I’m pretty sure I can eat an entire box of orange creamsicles but obviously that would be a bad idea. So my healthier option is to make an orange creamsicle protein smoothie! It will make your taste buds happy and you won’t have to worry about cheating on your healthy eating routine.

1 Cup Orange Juice

1 Cup Frozen Sliced Peaches

1/2 Cup Frozen Chopped Mango

1/2 Cup Plain Greek Yogurt

1 Scoop 1st Phorm Level 1 Vanilla Ice Cream Protein

A Setback Is A Setup For A Comeback

Just because life punches you in the face doesn’t mean that’s your excuse to give up and quit. Every hit you take is a chance to stand up again and every time you get up after being knocked down you become stronger. Use setbacks as a chance to make a comeback!

It’s been 68 days since my last workout because I was in a car accident and I’m still slowly healing from my 5th concussion. But every day I try do the little things that will speed up my recovery time. Each day that passes is another missed workout but it’s also another day closer to being back in the gym!

Think positive and get results.

Refreshing Green Pineapple Kiwi Smoothie

I randomly threw this together and not going to lie, I totally outdid myself. Maybe it’s just me, but I think this is one of my best smoothies in a long time!

This is what I blended together in my NINJA:

2 Kiwis
1 Cup Frozen Pineapple
1 Cup Frozen Green Sliced Apples
1 Large Celery Stick
1/2 Cup Kale
2 Cups Water

I had a horrible headache before I drank this and it helped it go away, sometimes all you need is something packed with nutrients!

 

**Also if you noticed I haven’t posted on here since May 24 it’s because I was in a car accident and I’m suffering from my 5th concussion. I’m starting to feel better but I still have headaches especially if I concentrate too hard, so I’m going to try to post as much as I can but please bear with me.

Motivation Monday: Be Perfectly You

Be perfectly YOU! Don’t worry about trying to be like anyone else, truth is it’s never going to happen and you shouldn’t want it to. I get that you may want things that other people have or want to do things that other people do, which can happen. But, the only person you should really be worried about trying to be better than is yourself! Be your own motivation and strive to be better than you were yesterday. And embrace who YOU are because you are special, you are like no one else and that’s what makes you perfectly you!

Workout Wednesday: Dynamic Warm Up

Stretching is so important when it comes to preventing injuries and getting the most out of your workouts, but not all stretching is the same. Before you workout it’s best to do dynamic stretching and after a workout is when you want to do static stretching. Dynamic stretching is typically held for just 3-10 seconds and is meant to increase the movement of the joints and increase core temperature. Research has shown that dynamic stretches like walking lunges and butt kicks improves force production and explosive power. It also helps increase body awareness, stability and balance which is a huge benefit going into your workout!

Try doing 20 meters of each of these as your next warm up before you start a long run or workout:

After your workout remember to do some static stretching, remember these are the stretches you probably learned in gym class. For example touching your toes. Static stretches should be held for 10 to 30 seconds and repeated at least 4 times. Because static stretching elongates and relaxes your muscles they should only be used after a workout.
